Professor Martin Schulz, RPh, PhD, FESCP, FFIP
Martin studied Pharmacy (1978-1983) and Medicine (1984-1986). After finishing his PhD in Pharmacology in 1988 at the University of Hamburg, he eventually specialized as a Pharmacologist and in Drug Information. Since 2008, he is the Managing Director of the Department of Medicine at ABDA - Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists in Berlin, Germany. In addition, he is Director Pharmacy of the German Institute for Drug Use Evaluation (DAPI) and since 2009 Chairman of the Drug Commission of German Pharmacists. He serves on several committees eg, at the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), Federal Institute of Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and IQWiG. He is an Adjunct Professor in Clinical Pharmacy at Goethe-University Frankfurt since 2005 and a lecturer at Freie Universitaet Berlin since 2015. From 2006-2011, he served FIP as the chairman of the Programme Committee and as the co-chair of the Centennial Programme Committee 2010-2012. He is the current vice-chair of FIP’s SIG on Pharmacy Practice Research (PPR). Martin is a member of eg, FIP, the German Pharmaceutical Society, German Pharmacological Society, German Diabetes Society, ASCPT, ACCPharm, ACCPharmacol, ISPE, ISoP, ESCP, and ESC. He has published over 500 papers so far and presented over 390 talks, lectures, and posters throughout the world. He has been recognized both as a FIP (FFIP) and ESCP Fellow (FESCP).
