Uppsala
Uppsala is a city of history, yet also a place where new ideas and trends are born. Here you can find the oldest university in Sweden (founded in 1477), the biggest cathedral in Scandinavia, and Uppsala castle, which has been the setting for many important events throughout the history of Sweden. Side by side to these testimonies of history, you can dine at modern restaurants, take a cup of coffee in trendy cafés, or shop in small boutiques with the latest fashion. Uppsala is close to nature and there are many beautiful parks to stroll around in. Among these is the first botanical garden in Sweden, the Linneaus Garden, founded in 1655.
