Dr. Ross Tsuyuki was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. His training includes:
B.Sc.(Pharm.) from the University of British ColumbiaResidency at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver.Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the State University of New York at BuffaloPostdoctoral fellowship in clinical trials in the Division of Cardiology at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario (Supervisor: Dr. Salim Yusuf)MSc in Health Research Methods from McMaster University (Supervisor: Dr. Salim Yusuf)Dr. Tsuyuki is currently a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Director of the Epidemiology Coordinating and Research (EPICORE) Centre (a health research coordinating centre).
Dr. Tsuyuki has received several awards for teaching and mentorship, as well as appointment as a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the American College of Cardiology. In 2005, he was recognized as the Canadian Pharmacist of the Year by the Canadian Pharmacists Association. He has over 280 peer-reviewed publications and over $30 million in research funding.
His interests include: improving public health through engaging community pharmacists as primary care providers (interventional pharmacy practice research). He is also very involved in the provision of support for other researchers and training the next generation of health researchers.
