Professor Emeritus Lloyd Sansom AO, PhC,BSc.PhD(Adel),FPS, Hon.DHlth(N'cle),Hon DSc(Qld) ,DUniv(Griff), FPS

Professor Sansom graduated in pharmacy in 1962 and completed his PhD in Biophysical Chemistry at the University of Adelaide in 1972.He worked in academia for 38 years retiring in 2000 as the Head of the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at the University of South Australia. He was Chair of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee from 2001 to 2011 having been the Chair of the Australian Pharmaceutical Advisory Council since 1991.Professor Sansom is currently the Special Advisor on the National Medicines Policy Framework to the Department of Health ,Canberra He holds the title of Emeritus Professor at the University of South Australia and has received honorary Doctorates from several Australian Universities and numerous national awards. The Sansom Institute for Health Research was established by the University of South Australia in recognition of his contributions. In 2002 Professor Sansom was made an Officer in the Order of Australia for contributions to pharmaceutical education and research and the development of national pharmaceutical policy
